Four different people check our work. None of them work for us.
A credential is only worth what the organisation issuing it puts at risk by issuing it. The four below each verify something different — the company, the individual, the craft and the engineering — and every one of them can be checked without taking our word for it.
The programs
What each one actually checks.
These four get listed together as though they were interchangeable. They are not. A client who needs operator qualification is not satisfied by a safety prequalification, and a specification that calls for a certified cathodic protection technician will not accept a craft credential instead.
Our safety programs, read by somebody else
Verifies the companyISN collects a contractor's written safety programs, insurance certificates, training records and regulatory statistics, reviews them, and grades the result against each hiring client's own thresholds. Owners and operators subscribe so they do not have to run that review themselves — and so the answer comes out the same way for every contractor they hire.

The person who did the task was qualified to do it
Verifies the individualUnder 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart N and Part 195 Subpart G, a pipeline operator has to be able to show that the specific individual who performed a covered task was qualified to perform it — evaluated, not merely trained, and not merely present at a class. Veriforce runs those evaluations and holds the records, alongside the same kind of contractor prequalification ISN provides.

A credential that belongs to the worker, not to us
Verifies the craftNCCER sets standardised craft curricula and assessments — written knowledge plus hands-on performance — and records the result in a national registry held in the individual's name. The standard is identical in California and in Texas, which is the entire point of it. A credential that evaporates when somebody changes employer is not a credential.

The discipline itself, certified by the body that writes the standard
Verifies the engineeringAMPP — the Association for Materials Protection and Performance, formed in 2021 out of NACE International and SSPC — certifies cathodic protection practitioners and publishes the standards the work is judged against. The −850 mV criterion in every survey report we issue comes from AMPP SP0169. So does the certification of the person applying it.

Cathodic protection certification
The four levels, and what each one is allowed to say.
AMPP certifies cathodic protection in four steps, and they are not interchangeable. A specification that calls for one will not accept another — so it is worth knowing what you are actually asking a bidder for before you write it into the scope.
CP4 is the top of that ladder — there is no AMPP cathodic protection certification above it, and it is the level that can put its name to a design rather than only to a reading. Certification and licensure are separate things, and this page is where the two meet: the design sits under an AMPP Cathodic Protection Specialist, the installation under a California Class A engineering contractor licence. Most projects have to buy those two from two different companies, and then referee between them when the readings disappoint.
Licences and registrations
Licensed to build it, not only to test it.
A great many corrosion firms can survey a system and write a report about it. Rather fewer are licensed to put one in the ground. We hold engineering contractor licences in both states we operate from, which is why the design, the installation and the commissioning record can come from the same company and be argued with as one thing. The certification above the design and the licence above the build sit in the same building.

Certifications, licences and qualification
Which contractor prequalification systems are you registered in?
ISNetworld and Veriforce. Both collect our written safety programs, insurance certificates, training records and incident history, review them, and grade the result against each hiring client's own thresholds. If your company subscribes to either one, our record is already visible inside your account and you do not need to ask us for a copy of anything.
What is operator qualification, and do your crews hold it?
Operator qualification is the requirement, under 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart N for gas and Part 195 Subpart G for hazardous liquid, that a pipeline operator be able to show the specific individual who performed a covered task was qualified to perform it — evaluated, not merely trained. We hold those qualifications through Veriforce, recorded per person and per task with a date against each one, so the record an auditor asks for is held by a third party rather than by us.
What is an NCCER credential and why does it matter on a jobsite?
NCCER sets standardised craft curricula and assessments — written knowledge plus hands-on performance — and records the result in a national registry held in the individual worker's name rather than the employer's. It matters because the standard is the same in every state, and because a credential that belongs to the worker can be verified independently and does not evaporate when somebody changes companies.
What are the AMPP cathodic protection certification levels?
Four, in order: CP1 Tester takes readings to a written procedure; CP2 Technician tests, troubleshoots and evaluates system performance and field data; CP3 Technologist works above interpretation and becomes the prerequisite for CP4 from June 2027; CP4 Specialist designs galvanic and impressed current systems on complex structures. They are not interchangeable, so a specification calling for one will not accept another. We hold CP4 in-house, which is the top of that ladder — there is nothing above it — and it is the level that can put its name to a design rather than only to a reading. The installation then sits under a California Class A engineering contractor licence, so the design certification and the build licence are in the same building rather than at two different companies.
How can I verify your licences and certifications myself?
Every one of them resolves to a public register. CSLB #1057714 through the California Contractors State License Board licence check; AZ ROC #337772 through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors search; AMPP certification through the AMPP Find a Certified Professional directory, in the certificate holder's own name. NCCER credentials verify against the NCCER registry, and we will send the holder's registry link on request. ISNetworld and Veriforce records are visible in your own account.
